The Role
We are looking for a client-facing Estimator to support our Brisbane team with Commercial Interior Fit-outs. The Estimator will prepare detailed and competitive pricing submissions from initial client briefing meetings, detailed project specifications, drawings and any other requirements. The role will require the ability to work flexibly and will require you to undertake other activities of a similar nature.
Responsibilities will include:
- Attend client briefing meetings with Principal/Client Design Leader, professionally representing Geyer Valmont in-market
- Collaborate with in-house design team to create proposals that answer to client’s requirements
- Work with the estimation team to prepare timely and accurate cost plans and/or tender pricing including all take off measurements, quantities, rates and subcontractor pricing
- Complete site inspections and meetings (as required) with contractors to ensure all subcontracts, suppliers and consultants have a full understanding of the project scope and documentation.
- Prepare scope of works for contractor pricing that detail relevant project specifications, reference drawings, schedules and any additional requirements or allowances.
- Review all pricing received from subcontractors identifying that scope is fully covered. Notify the Director and negotiate with the contractors as required.
- Brief Directors on progress of projects, Notify and report any known issues to the Directors.
- Prevent incidents and issues by proper planning and monitoring of the projects
- Ensure all Client requirements i.e. building fitout guides, Client OH&S requirements are understood and allowed for in pricing.
- Commit to transparent and timely communication with subcontractors and suppliers and the Placewell Group Delivery Team (PM, CA, Designer) at all times.
- Prepare pricing for winning design and construction jobs, and hard dollar tenders, ensuring margins are achieved.
- Adhere to all aspects of the IMS System.
- Take reasonable care, and cooperate with any initiatives or actions taken to protect the health and safety of both yourself and others in the workplace, and report all accidents, incidents and hazards to a supervisor as soon as is practicable
- Ensure all SQE documentation is completed and registered in the company SQE systems.
- Adhere to all WHS and Anti-Discrimination legislative requirements.
